What "money found" means
MSPs lose margin in three predictable places:
- Uncontracted licenses — the customer is using N seats of a SaaS product, but your PSA contract covers N-3. You’re eating the cost of the extra three.
- Below-margin SKUs — the SKU you resell at cost-plus-X% has been moved by the distributor, and the cost-plus calculation now puts you under your minimum margin.
- Cancelled subscriptions still being billed — the distributor cancelled, but the PSA contract still invoices. You’re billing the customer for a service they no longer have.
Each row in Money Found is one of these conditions, scoped to a customer + SKU, with the dollar delta and a recommended action.
The Money Found surface
Visit Money Found to see the full list. Filter by customer, SKU, or condition class. The header shows the total dollar opportunity across all open rows.
For each row you can:
- Open in PSA — jump to the contract that needs editing.
- Open in distributor — jump to the customer’s subscription page in Pax8 / Sherweb / Ingram / SYNNEX.
- Mute — silence the row for N days if you’re mid-billing-cycle and don’t want the noise. Mute reasons are captured in the audit log.
- Mark resolved — once you’ve fixed it in the PSA. The row drops off; if the same condition reappears next sync, it comes back.
The Licensing tab
The Licensing surface (/licensing) is the read-only view: every distributor subscription, per customer, per SKU, with seat counts, cost, and the contract mapping. Money Found is the actionable subset of Licensing — rows where the cost / seat-count / status diverges from what your PSA carries.
