Asset lifecycle integration

Dell Warranty logo

Vectis + Dell Warranty.

Pull live warranty expiry dates and service tier directly from the Dell TechDirect API — every Dell device in the customer hub shows accurate coverage with no manual lookup.

PlannedAdvertised; dedicated adapter on the registry roadmap. The generic webhook receiver covers the gap until the named connector lands.

What Vectis syncs

The read side of the adapter.

Vectis calls the Dell TechDirect Warranty API with the service tags of every Dell-manufacturer asset across your connected RMMs. For each tag, Vectis picks the latest-expiring active entitlement and records the expiry date and service level description (e.g. ProSupport Plus, Premium Support). The result writes back to the asset record in Vectis and shows on the customer hub without touching the originating RMM.

What you can do

The write side of the adapter.

Dell Warranty is a read-only enrichment connector — Vectis pulls coverage data from Dell and writes it onto asset records. Assets with lapsed or near-expiry coverage surface automatically in lifecycle views and can trigger rules (e.g. open a renewal ticket in the PSA when a device enters its 90-day window). No write-back to Dell is supported or needed.

Honest about the limits

What we don’t do, and why.

The Dell TechDirect API requires an approved partner or reseller account — consumer or end-customer accounts cannot use it. Batch lookup is capped at 100 service tags per API call; Vectis sequences calls for larger fleets, which can make first-sync slower on tenants with thousands of Dell assets. Devices with missing or unrecognized service tags return no warranty data; Vectis logs the gap rather than estimating.

How it correlates

One customer, every tool.

Dell Warranty on the customer account hub alongside every other system you run — not a standalone dashboard. A few of the most common shapes this takes:

Warranty status on every Dell device, automatically

Vectis matches Dell assets by service tag across all connected RMMs and populates warranty expiry and tier without a CSV import or manual lookup. Devices expiring in the next 90 days surface automatically in the lifecycle module.

Coverage gaps next to backup and patch status

The customer hub shows Dell warranty status on the same asset row as backup coverage, patch compliance, and RMM alert count — so a device with lapsed warranty and an open alert stands out without a separate report.

Setup snapshot

What connecting looks like.

Apply for a TechDirect API account at techdirect.dell.com — select the Warranty API product during the application (approval typically takes 1–2 business days). Once approved, navigate to Developer → My Apps in the TechDirect portal, create an application, and copy the client ID and client secret. Enter both in Vectis admin → Integrations → Dell Warranty. Vectis validates the credentials with a test call before saving, then queues a background sync to enrich all existing Dell assets by service tag.

# In the Vectis hub, add the connector:
category Asset lifecycle
vendor Dell Warranty
status Planned
